![]() ![]() Because they don't support Wasapi Exclusive mode (unless that changed in the last months). The RME WASAPI driver is not working correctly and it would be greatly appreciated if it could be fixed.Īmazon HD doesn't change sample rates, no matter what DAC. If it was in true WASAPI exclusive mode, the player would talk directly with the DAC and bypass the Windows kernel mixer completely and send unaltered bit perfect original data at the original sample rate and bit depth. The windows kernel mixer is resampling the audio. For example if I select 32 bit 384 kHz from the drop down menu (under shared mode) 384 is displayed on the DAC and does not change regardless of what the application player is sending it. This is obvious because what ever sample rate is selected as the shared mode default format is what appears on the display of the DAC. It appears that the RME is not using WASAPI Exclusive mode but is using Shared mode. ![]() So does my Meridian Explorer 1 non MQA DAC and Anthem preamp changes sample rate. To reiterate, my Ressonessence Labs, non MQA DAC changes sample rates using the Tidal desktop app. It's only the RME that requires a player like Roon or Audirvana with Tidal support. Tidal desktop app works fine with my other DACS. I though that my post was related and just reinforcing the OPs issue.Īmazon Music HD does now support WASAPI Exclusive mode. Search the forum!Īmazon HD doesn't change sample rates, no matter what DAC. Tidal won't work unless you use a player with Tidal support or the virtual ASIO cable as workaround. Hijack again? This has been discussed several times in the forum already. Is anyone else able to see if the Sample rates change for them using the Tidal app?Įdit: Sample rates won't change with Amazon HD as well. No problems with my old Ressonessence Labs DAC or Anthem preamp. Sample rates still won't change using the Tidal desktop app for me. And based on my experience with messed-up win10 updates, I really suspect the OS. There must be something fishy - either in ADI-2 firmware or in win10 audio layer. Nothing special running in the background, I keep my OS clean. OS is installed recently with only Realtek drivers for onboard audio installed. And I never had any RME drivers installed, so there is nothing to clean. On my win10 1909 the sample rate comboBox in control panel was disabled all the time from the beginning, stuck at 44.1kHz 32bit. This is the first time I can actually change sample rates in win10 audio control panel when using ADI-2 as USB DAC! And this also lets the WASAPI exclusive applications automatically change the sample rate on demand. About to hijack this thread even more - just want to say thanks to rajupras for the workaround with disabling SPDIF input. ![]()
